Mailing Lists
There are two mailing lists associated with NIST Switch:
- nistswitch-dev@antd.nist.gov
This is the NIST Switch Developer's mailing list. You can't subscribe
to this list (unless, of course, you happen to be a NIST Switch developer),
but you are welcome to submit questions or bug reports to it.
- nistswitch@antd.nist.gov
This is the public NIST Switch mailing list, for general discussion of
NIST Switch issues. Only list subscribers can send or receive mail on
this list.
You are invited to subscribe to the list when you
request the NIST Switch software. To subscribe
or unsubscribe at any other point, send mail to
nistswitch-request@antd.nist.gov.
(Again, send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to
nistswitch-request@antd.nist.gov.
and not to the mailing list itself!!)
This is a majordomo-administered mailing list. If you are not
familiar with majordomo,
more information about it than you probably wanted to know.
(Note: this is a link outside of NIST.) In brief, to make requests
to the majordomo server, send a mail message to it with your request
in the body of the message (not in the subject line!)
Possible requests include:
- help - get more information about the requests below
- info - get some general information about the list
- subscribe - subscribe to the list. If your return address is
not evident in the header of your mail message, or you wish to subscribe
with a different address, supply it as follows:
subscribe your_email_address
To reduce the possibilities for abuse, we use a subscribe-with-confirm
approach. When you subscribe, you will receive an email message with
instruction on how to confirm your subscription. Only after you
have confirmed will you begin receiving list messages.
- unsubscribe - unsubscribe from the list. Again, when needed
you may supply the address:
unsubscribe your_email_address
- end - last request to process. This is helpful if your mail
software adds signature lines or the like which might otherwise confuse
the majordomo server.
NIST Switch mailing lists are for discussion of NIST Switch-related topics
only. Spamming or other off-topic posting may result in removal
from the list.
