About this Webspace
Java(tm) specifications are being used in many facets of the information technology (IT) industry and commerce. As an openly-available specification Java is being built into freeware, major- market software and enterprise solutions. Recently Java has entered the formal standards arena and is beginning its path to becoming a formal, international, open standard.
The availability of IT solutions that correctly implement the open Java standards will serve to grow the market for Java-based products. From a business perspective developers who can show that they have faithfully implemented the standard can stand out from those who cannot make such claims. Conformity assessment methods that can help build correct Java implementations are necessary to ensure the consistency and accurate use of the Java specification now and in the future. Conformity assessment methods that measure correct implementations can also have a positive side-effect of proving the standard specification correct and free of ambiguities.
This webspace points to tools, research efforts, and information that can help implementation developers, application developers, and users ensure that the java-based technologies developed or employed are correct with regard to the Java specifications.
