Workshop for Real-time Java(TM) Implementation Issues
Agenda
Hosted by the
Information Technology Laboratory
At the
National Institute of Standard and Technology
Gaithersburg, Md.
Lecture Room D
June 25-26, 1998
The goal of the workshop is twofold: to investigate challenges of real-time requirements in implementations making use of Java technologies and to reach consensus on further investigation of research, specifications, and techniques to meet these challenges.
The early sessions of the workshop focus on the use of Java technologies in real-time systems and applications. The outcome of these sessions will be a compilation of consumer real-time needs and concerns, and the real-time requirements facing implementers. The starting point for discussion could include defining areas of research and development, furthering specifications, articulating good practices, and examining verification techniques. The later sessions highlight the research, techniques and solutions that exist today, placed in the context of the previous sessions. The final session is devoted to building a consensus on moving forward in an appropriate manner to meet the challenges for providing real-time Java implementations.
