(8/4/99) VMView 1.0 beta 2a for Java 2 (JDK 1.2.2) released. Fixes a problem that resulted in VMView terminating unexpectedly when method tracing under JDK 1.2.2 if local variable information is absent.
(5/13/99) VMView beta 2 for Java 2 (JDK 1.2) released. Adds the ability to "remember" the last session's trace settings, which is useful when VMView is repeatedly used to trace the same Java application or applet. Class field values are shown on constructor return to aid debugging improperly constructed classes. A few minor bugs have been fixed.
(2/3/99) VMView beta 1.0 for Java 2 (JDK 1.2) is released. Beta 1.0 is a refined version of the VMView application. VMView has been largely rewritten and redesigned to take best advantage of the new JVMDI available with Java 2.
(11/3/98) VMView alpha 2.2 for JDK 1.2 RC 1 is released. Alpha 2.2 is a port of VMView alpha 2.1 to the redesigned JVMDI found in JDK 1.2 Release Candidate 1.
(10/9/98) VMView alpha 2.1 for JDK 1.2 beta 4 is released. A separate installation of Tcl/Tk is no longer required - it has been embedded within VMView.
(9/21/98) VMView alpha 2 is released. Features the ability to trace applets, a rewritten DLL and improved Windows 95 console handling.
(7/24/98) VMView alpha 1a is released. It is an interim release compatible with JDK 1.2 beta 4.
