Request for IEEE 1073 Medical Device

NIST in cooperation with the IEEE 1073 Working Group is developing conformance tests and associated software tools to provide the medical device industry with the ability to ensure that point-of-care devices properly implement the set of standards for medical device communications, IEEE 1073, and to provide feedback regarding the testability and precision of these standards.

To facilitate the development of conformance tests and tools, NIST plans to develop a test bed consisting of point-of-care devices and associated system software. The equipment will be used by NIST researchers to gain knowledge of the devices and their implementation of the 1073 standards. Participation is solicited from all parties interested in loaning NIST medical devices and/or systems that implement the IEEE 1073 set of standards.
