This project provides a repository of known
software, file profiles, and file signatures for use by law enforcement
organizations in computer forensics investigations.
Sponsor: National Institute of Justice, with cooperation
from other law enforcement agencies such as the FBI's Computer
Analysis Response Team and DoD's Defense Computer Forensics Laboratory.

Forensics Tools Verification
This project develops a testing program,
including the test methodology, process, and tests, for software
tools used in the investigations of computer-related crimes produce
valid results.
Sponsor: National Institute of Justice, with cooperation
from other law enforcement agencies such as the FBI's Computer
Analysis Response Team and DoD's Defense Computer Forensics Laboratory.
- Presidentical
Electronic Records and Archives
This project develops and applies technologies that can be used
in the electronic records processing of Presidential papers, e.g.,
filtering and identifying file types. As a possible solution, the
National Software Reference Library (NSRL) is being used to identify
executive software and flag irrelevant software.
