Our Partnerships

Our Partnership with Other Government Agencies...
involves working with other Federal Government Agencies to help them fulfill their information technology measurement and standards needs.

In addition to working with the Federal CIO Council to help government use the voluntary standards systems, we work with individual agencies, usually on a cost-reimbursable basis, to make government both more efficient and more responsive through information technologies.

Our projects with federal agencies include:

  • Nationwide Health Infrastructure
This project develops test materials to advance the adoption of HIT standards and implementation.

Sponsor: Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the National Coordinator

  • Software Assurance (SA) Metrics and Tool Evaluation
This project develops tests to measure the correctness of SA tools and to identify deficiencies.

    Sponsor: Department of Homeland Security

  • HAVA Voting Support
This project provides support to the EAC's Technical Guidelines Development Committee in developing voluntary voting standards.

    Sponsor: Election Assistance Commission

  • National Software Reference Library
This project provides a repository of known software, file profiles, and file signatures for use by law enforcement organizations in computer forensics investigations.

Sponsor: National Institute of Justice, with cooperation from other law enforcement agencies such as the FBI's Computer Analysis Response Team and DoD's Defense Computer Forensics Laboratory.

  • Computer Forensics Tools Verification
This project develops a testing program, including the test methodology, process, and tests, for software tools used in the investigations of computer-related crimes produce valid results.

Sponsor: National Institute of Justice, with cooperation from other law enforcement agencies such as the FBI's Computer Analysis Response Team and DoD's Defense Computer Forensics Laboratory.

  • Presidentical Electronic Records and Archives
This project develops and applies technologies that can be used in the electronic records processing of Presidential papers, e.g., filtering and identifying file types. As a possible solution, the National Software Reference Library (NSRL) is being used to identify executive software and flag irrelevant software.

Sponsor: National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
