Quality Group (897.01)
The Software Quality Group develops tools, methods, and related models
for improving the process of ensuring that software behaves correctly,
thus helping industry improve the quality of software
development and maintenance. Semantic correctness and formal methods
techniques are also candidate tasks for this group.

Standards
and Conformance Testing Group (897.02)
The Standards and Conformance Testing Group develops conformance test
suites, tools, methods and prototypes to achieve high-quality, interoperable implementations
that conform to standards and meet users' needs. New test generation techniques are also developed.
We partner with industry to provide conformance guidance and to develop precise, testable specifications and
conformance tests.

Interoperability
Group (897.03)
The Interoperability Group develops specifications and tests to improve
the quality and interoperability of IT systems needed by other
Federal Government agencies. Specific products include developing
specifications prior to formal standardization efforts, testing
strategies, test methods, test tools, reference data, and prototypes.
We advise Federal agencies how to meet their needs through
standards and testing.
