Since joining NIST in July, 1992, I have worked in
a variety of groups within the Information Technology
Laboratory, formerly the Computer Systems Laboratory. During this period, I have
been responsible for the development and implementation of projects
related to the research, standardization, and commercialization of distributed systems
technologies.
Prior to NIST, I worked at the Naval Surface Warfare
Center, in Carderock, MD. My primary duties included providing systems and
network level support for the Center's Central Computing Facilities.
Education:
- Distributed Environments and Applications
- Primary interests include formal methods for proving correctness in
distributed systems.
- Electronic Commerce
- As a member of the Electronic Commerce Group, my primary interests were in
middleware technologies that were applicable to a wide variety of application
areas, including Electronic Commerce, Health Care, Education, Manufacturing,
and Digital Libraries.
- Network Management
- Areas of expertise included (1) coexistence of OSI CMIS/CMIP and IPS SNMP
and (2) network management security.
