The Rich Transcription 2006 Spring Meeting Recognition Evaluation Workshop will ocurr May 3-4, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda.  The meeting will begin after lunch on the 3rd and will end at 6:00 pm on the 4th.  The workshop will be proceeded by the MLMI 2006 Conference, May 1-3, at the same venue.  Registration for MLMI can be found on the MLMI site.  Since these are independent workshops, you must register at both meetings if you intend to attend both.

The workshop agenda can be downloaded for the meeting.  Please mail the presenters names to NIST for inclusion in the agenda.

REGISTRATION

The registration fee is $275 and includes coffee breaks, continental breakfast and lunch on May 4, and workshop materials. The registration form must be received by April 21, 2006. Cancellations and/or substitutions must be requested, in writing, by April 21, and no refunds will be made after this date. Electronic registration has closed.  Contact NIST for registration information.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Conference registration does not include your hotel reservation. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda, (301) 657-1234 or 1-800-233-1234. The special room rate is $210 single, $235, double, plus 12% tax. Register no later than March 30, 2006 by either using the online reservation page (https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventID=29440) or calling the hotel directly.  If you call the reservation in, mention that you are attending the “MLMI ’06 Workshop" and/or the "RT-06S Workshop”. After March 30, the rooms will be released for general sale at the prevailing rates of the hotel, which are substantially higher.

COFFEE BREAKS AND LUNCH

Continental breakfast will be provided each day, and refreshments will be provided during the morning, mid-morning, and mid-afternoon breaks. Lunch will also be provided on May 4.

TRANSPORTATION

Awards Limousine Service, Inc., provides 24 hour transportation services onsite at the Hotel. Airport transfers and local transportation can be arranged by calling (301) 656-9645. Visit the website at www.awardslimo.com.

The Washington Metro has subway service to Bethesda. Metro can be boarded at National Airport. Take a Yellow Line train marked "Mount Vernon Square" to "Gallery Place" and transfer to a Red Line train marked "Shady Grove" to the "Bethesda" station. The metro stop in Bethesda is next to the venue.  Service is every 6 to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day. The travel time from National to Bethesda is about 35 minutes. Taxis are available from the Shady Grove Metro station to area hotels.

DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS

From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (18 Miles):
Take George Washington Parkway to I-495 North, to Wisconsin Avenue South, Exit 34 South. Hotel is on right, 2 miles.

From Washington Dulles International Airport (18 miles):
Take Dulles Access Road East to I-495, to Wisconsin Avenue South, Exit 34 South. Hotel is on right, 2 miles.

From Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (32 miles):
Take I-95 South to I-495 West towards Silver Spring/Chevy Chase. Take 355 South in direction of Bethesda/Washington, DC which turns to Wisconsin Avenue.

PARKING RATES

Self Parking: $15.00 Sunday to Thursday, $12.00 Friday and Saturday
Valet Parking: $20.00 Sunday to Thursday, $17.00 Friday and Saturday
Daily parking for the day is $10

PUBLIC PARKING: 1 block from hotel, $.35 an hour Mon-Fri, no charge Sat, Sun & holidays. No in/out charge, clearance 6'8".
