    Workshop Information

    SPEAKER RECOGNITION WORKSHOP

    May 14-15, 2001

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    LOCATION AND WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES

    The workshop will be held at the Maritime Institute of Technology (MITAGS), 5700 Hammonds Ferry Road, Linthicum Heights, Maryland. MITAGS is a residential facility, which provides accommodations for out-of-town attendees and meals for both residents and commuters.

    The workshop sessions will be held in Room A111/113 of the Academic Building. On- site check-in will begin at 8 a.m. on May 14. Meals will be provided in the Residence Building dining room. All participants should plan to attend the Workshop dinner on the evening of Monday, May 14.

    REGISTRATION

    The registration fee is $190 and includes continental breakfast, coffee breaks, lunches, dinner, and workshop materials. The registration form and payment must be received by Monday, April 30. Requests for cancellation or refund must be submitted, in writing, to Kim Snouffer by April 30.

    ACCOMMODATIONS

    A block of rooms have been reserved at the Maritime Institute of Technology, 410/859-5700. A special rate of $118.00, has been arranged for attendees. To reserve a room, please call the Institute directly by April 12, 2001, and mention that you are attending the NIST/Speaker Recognition Workshop.

    COFFEE BREAKS, LUNCH AND DINNER

    Continental breakfast and refreshments during breaks will be provided in the meeting room. Lunch will be provided on both days. Dinner will be provided for those attendees arriving May 13 and for all attendees on the evening of May 14. Lunch and dinner will be held in the Residence Building dining room.

    COMPUTER EQUIPMENT

    Attendees are welcome to bring computer equipment for use during the workshop.

    TRANSPORTATION

    The Maritime Institute of Technology is located three miles from Baltimore- Washington International Airport. Taxis are available from the airport and cost approximately $8 one-way.

    For driving instructions, follow the appropriate directions given below:

    From BWI Airport: From the airport ramp, take I-195 to the BWI Parkway (MD-295 North). Continue to the West Nursery Road exit. At the end of the exit, bear right onto Nursery Road. Go to the first traffic light and turn left onto International Drive. Go to the first street and turn left onto Aero Drive. Proceed 2 blocks and through the gate onto MITAGS property. Follow the blue lines to visitor parking lots A, B, C, or D. Further directions may be obtained at the Front Desk, located in the South Tower Residence Building (Building #2).

    From Baltimore: Take the Baltimore/Washington Parkway (Rt. 295) South to the West Nursery Road Exit. At the end of the ramp turn left onto West Nursery Road. At the third traffic light turn left onto International Drive. Go to the first street and turn left onto Aero Drive. Proceed 2 blocks and through gate onto MITAGS property. Follow the blue lines to visitor parking lots A, B, C, or D. Further directions may be obtained at the Front Desk, located in the South Tower Residence Building (Building #2).

    From Washington: Take the Baltimore/Washington Parkway (Rt. 295) North to the West Nursery Road Exit. Bear right at end of ramp onto West Nursery Road. Go to first accessible traffic light and turn left onto International Drive. Go to the first street and turn left onto Aero Drive. Proceed 2 blocks and through gate to MITAGS property. Follow the blue lines to visitor parking lots A, B, C, or D. Further directions may be obtained at the Front Desk, located in the South Tower Residence Building (Building #2).
