The 2005 NIST Language Recognition evaluation (LRE-05) is part of an ongoing series of evaluations of language recognition technology. The protocols and procedures of this year's evaluation is given in the evaluation plan (LRE05EvalPlan-v5-2.pdf, updated October 6, 2005).

Those who are interested in participating in the evaluation must fill out a registration form and return to NIST before the registration deadline of October 7, 2005. Please type or print legibly, sign, and fax/send it to NIST.

Sites must put in a request to NIST to get the training and/or development. Non-LDC members must sign the LDC license agreement before NIST can send them the data.

The LRE-05 answer key is now available online.

Important Updates:

• October 6, 2005: Updated the evaluation plan to indicate the increase test size.
• September 28, 2005: Modifications were made to the eval plan. The main modifications included the new CDET that allows language-specific synthetic priors and the inclusion of the primary condition of test.
• September 13, 2005: Added link to the LDC license agreement form.
• July 31, 2005: The dates of the evaluation workshop have changed and are now reflected in the evaluation plan and schedule.
