Paper Summary: |
The authors introduce LISA (large information scale appliance). LISA is a large plasma screen display that is intended to be used by small work groups as well as single users wishing to log into the network and access personal information. The plasma display is connected to a badge reader which identifies a user. Users can customize their settings and place resources on their home page. During small group meetings, users can open and share resources by clicking and dragging. One of the guidelines set forth by the authors is the importance of transient information/data. The system purges all data once a user logs out of the system (removing his or her badge). The intent is to ensure the privacy of a user's information.
