About the Authors

Sunny Consolvo

Sunny Consolvo is a Member of the Research Staff at Intel Research Seattle. Her focus is in applying human-centered design to ubiquitous computing. She is currently working in the areas of fitness and eldercare.

As part of the Ubiquitous Fitness Influencing Technology (UbiFIT) project, she is investigating how technology could encourage people to increase their levels of physical activity.

As part of the Computer-Supported Coordinated Care (CSCC) project, she is investigating how technology could be used to help the many people who provide care to elders. Sunny has a strong interest in the privacy implications of these types of technologies.

She previously worked in industry in Silicon Valley where her focus was on web design and usability.

Sunny studied Human-Computer Interaction in UC Berkeley's Reentry Program and is currently working on her Ph.D. at the University of Washington 's Information School .
