2001/2002 Evaluation (ACE Phase 2) Entity Detection and Tracking (EDT) + Relation Detection and Characterization (RDC)
The ACE research objectives are viewed as the detection and characterization
of Entities, Relations, and Events. ACE Phase 2 continues to build on the pilot study with technology R&D
effort focused on entity detection, with the introduction of an evaluation
of Relations (RDC) of entities. The Entity Detection task requires that selected types of entities mentioned
in the source data be detected and that selected attributes of these entities
be extracted and merged into a unified representation for each entity.
The RDC task requires that the relations between an identified set of
entities be determined.
