Module #05.01.02 : Characterization of workstations

All PVT documentation can be found under PHIGS Validation Tests - Overview. You may also return to the hierarchical table of topics covered by the PVT. For an explanation of the format of the individual module documentation, please see section 2.5 of the User's Guide.

DESCRIPTION: This module tests the functions which may be used to
determine the essential characteristics of workstations.
Workstation parameters (e.g., number of accessible workstations,
workstation identifier, connection identifier, and workstation
type) are taken from the PVT configuration file.

SEMANTIC REQUIREMENTS:

SR1. If a generic workstation type is used to inquire data from a Workstation Description Table, then either the requested data or error 51 is returned.
#F 253-299
#D 2.2.1 6

#T P01/2

SR2. The valid categories for any workstation type are: OUTPUT, INPUT, OUTIN, MO, or MI.

SR4. There must be at least one workstation of category OUTIN.
#F 204 253
#D 2.2.1 6.2
#S 4.14/114/2

SR5. <Inquire list of available workstation types> returns the 'list of available workstation types'.
#F 204
#D 2.2
#S
#T P01/1 P01/2 P01/3 P01/4

SR6. The 'list of available workstation types' contains all supported generic workstation types and nothing else.
#F 3 204
#D 2.2 6.1
#S 4.6.2/68/7
#T P01/3 P01/4 #C These types must be generic, since they are used to open
workstations.

SR9. <Inquire workstation classification> returns the workstation classification as either VECTOR, RASTER, or OTHER.
#F 259
#D 6.7
#S
#T P01/8

SR10. Each workstation of category OUTPUT or OUTIN has a workstation classification.
