Map Navigation Experiment Data

The map navigation experiment data is available for downloading in logger format.  Restoring and viewing these data require the MITRE Multi-Modal Logger.  The data is also available in sgml format.

Understanding the Data Session Names

• The first two letters (ST or TT) represent the two types of trials, the study trial and the test trial.  The study trials were simple trials used to familiarize the participants with the experiment conditions and with the task itself; the data from the study trials were not examined in our analyses.  The test trials were more complicated, and produced the data we were interested in analyzing.

• The third letter (A or B) indicates which map was used.  Essentially, the complexity of map A was equivalent to that of map B.

• The following number (1 or 2) shows the order the trial set was presented.

• The final letter is indicative of the treatment condition with a = audio and n = non-audio.

For example, TTA2n is the session for the test trial, using task A, which was administered second without audio.
