Special-Purpose Software: Uncertainties in Roughness Lengths
Introduction	The software provides estimates and uncertainties of wind effects on buildings sited in open or suburban terrain. The combined uncertainty incorporates two sources, sampling variability and uncertainty in estimated surface roughness lengths. The uncertainty in estimated surface roughness lengths relies upon data provided by Prof. F. J. Masters of the University of Florida (see Masters et al. 2010, and Excel file, appended herewith).

Masters, Vickery, Bacon and Rappaport (2010) "Toward Objective, Standardized Intensity Estimates from Surface Wind Speed Observations," American Meteorological Society, pp. 1665-1681 (PDF format). tidy_z0_data.csv - CSV file containing the data in the Master's paper. This file is also available as Excel file (masters_z0_data.xlsx). The Python script uses the CSV file.
